Who We Are
The Shetland Decommissioning Consortium is a joint initiative, with members bringing significant experience & capability, servicing the offshore oil and gas industry.
The Consortium’s marketing initiative has the support of Shetland Islands Council, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
Decommissioning facilities and operations are approved by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).
Current membership includes:
Lerwick Port Authority
Lerwick Port Authority (LPA) which owns and operates the harbour marine operations, including quays and berthing and provides support to the contracting partners involved in decommissioning operations.
LPA is an independent Trust Port and is also responsible for the development of the harbour.
Peterson SBS
Peterson SBS (PSBS), a contracting partner in decommissioning, operates the Greenhead base at Lerwick Harbour and provides the necessary infrastructure and facilities for decommissioning operations.
PSBS also manages and provides all transport and logistics operations, including load-in of structures.
Veolia Environmental Services
Veolia Environmental Services (VES), a contracting partner in decommissioning, operates the decommissioning facility within the Greenhead Base.
VES is responsible for all waste management and decommissioning operations within the site, including decontamination, deconstruction, segregation, re-use, re-cycling and disposal of materials; project management, health, safety and environmental accounting.

Consortium Membership
The Consortium is intended to be an open initiative to market and develop Shetland’s capability to the industry.
